Possible Art Show Saturday Novenber 29 East Village Bean

I have penciled in the date of November 29 for a Art Show at The Village Bean Co. in the East Village. I have two spots already spoken for. Which are Brad and I (James). There would probably enough room for 5 or 6 different artists to set up. It could be a Art-A-Holics show if we want to or not. It doesn't matter to me. If anyone else interested It would be during the day and I think it might be a good day to have a show on. She is also charging us nothing to put it on. If your interested let me know. I also think it would be a good way to get our foot in the door in the East Village for other shows.

she does have some ledges and will let us us there tables. just nothing on the walls. probably use easels

Do you think she's going to be open Friday, October 31 at night? East Village is having a big celebration, like a street party. This could be good to piggy-back off of.

Okay, we have six artists confirmed: Jim, Brad, Shawn, Steve, Aunita, and Thor. Until Jim get a floor layout mapped out, we are going to have to start a waiting list. If there is space for more, we will begin at the top of the waiting list. So if you are interested, make a post and that will become our waiting list. Thank you for understanding.

We need to get some advertising out for the show by next Friday, since that is Holiday Prominod and it will be real busy here in the east village and the owner would like to have some thing we can hand out. Even if we make out own postcards or business cards for the show. Im going to make some flyers and try to get them out by the end of the week. See you all at the meeting tomorrow.

Jim called me and said he spoke with the owner of The Village Bean, which is at 400 E. Locust across from the Blood Center of Iowa. She said that we can begin setting up at 8 a.m. It is up to you when you come, but please be set-up by 9. She said that is when business begins to pick up. If you don't want to be there all day, I'm sure those of us that stay can watch and sell your pieces until you return. There is not any show fee for this show.

Advertising is taken care of as Jim is hanging flyers in East Village business windows. I made business cards with our logo and show information. Those are in The Village Bean. The owner is going to pass out the ones that are left at the holiday shopping event on the 22nd. Thor, Jim, and I are going to utilize the online community calendars. I also have re-done the sandwich board signs I made. There will be four of those out on the day of the show in various places.

Jim, Thor, and I developed a rough floor plan for the show. The window in the front have a nice ledge on them like Gateway Market did. There is also a bench seating area that we have permission to remove the backing and use the bench seat as a display if we need to. There is also a conference room available. Sorry I couldn't make it to the meeting at the coffee house. Our dog died that morning and we had a funeral . Was a pretty sad time for us. If someone could give me a call and give me the skinny on the show it would be greatly appreciated. 515-975-7169
