Fundraising for the website

I need to raise some money for the site. So if anyone has any ideas on how to raise some money for the website, do it. That would be very helpful. I want to make the site useful not just an online business card. This includes the e-commerce site (Selling your art). A member only sign area so we can have things like this forum to are members. This will also making members official with user names and password to get information. These features require some complex coding that I do not know how to do as of now. I am working learning, and finding help. So if you can raise money please do it. It would be very helpful.

if you are wounding how much it cost to have a website made like this with most company's would charge well over 6,000 I should be able to do it for Far Far less but I still need to raise money anything helps.

If you want to make donations you can mail them or give them to me in person. If you do a fund raising I encourage you to take charge and do it. If someone wants to orginize something please do. I do not have time to do this it would be very helpful. For people who can give/raise I could give some extra promotion on the website to boost exposure. If you talk to business I can give advertising room for donations to the site.

what about finding people that would want to advertise on the website as sponsors. Im still willing to donate

I also guess we got to figure out what all we want to use the website for before you invest in a ton of stuff.

I mentioned some ideas in the e-mail. We can talk about things on Wednesday.

Like I said, it's OK to add features to the site little by little. The most important thing at this point is getting all the info up and getting people interested in our group.

In the long run, you could maybe charge people a flat fee (like a set-up fee) if they want to opt-in to sell work via the website. I have mentioned before, I will not be selling my work in this form - but for others in the group who want to build an online presence: go for it. Keep in mind though: simply making your art available online will not automatically translate into sales. You still have to produce quality work and spend a lot of time promoting yourself and your work. The internet has opened up a whole new world of opportunities for artists, but you still have to connect with people and build interest in your work.
